A little late, but we arrived in Bangkok, Thailand in early January.  The first thing that the kids wanted to do when we got to this city was find delicious food and that we did! For all street food lovers, Bangkok is a paradise. From traditional Thai dishes to international cuisine, we made an effort to try it all – kids quickly fell back on old favourites (dumplings, spring rolls, noodles and sushi – 10 bhat per piece :), but tried liver on a stick, papaya salad, mango sticky rice, Thai pancakes, roti, fruits (blended, fresh, fried)…we honestly haven’t stopped eating here!

When we were finally able to distract the kids from eating  – okay, we bought them 10am spring rolls for the walk  – we explored one of the must-see attractions in Bangkok – the Grand Palace. This stunning complex of buildings was once the residence of the Thai King and is a marvel of Thai architecture and craftsmanship. The intricate details and colourful mosaic and gold decorations left us in awe.

We didn’t make it to the Chatuchak Weekend Market because we sort of ran out of time after figuring out some travel/living logistics (sending winter stuff home and finding a dentist for Addy, etc.), but Thailand is not short on shopping opportunities and markets, so we are making up for it everywhere we go!
